311 to embark on fall tour. According to MTV, the Nebraska-born funk rock outfit will take their show on the road with opening act ZEBRAHEAD for a 6-week, all-ages tour. They'll open the tour in San Francisco this October 9.
GOV'T MULE bassist found dead. Douglas Allen Woody was found dead in a Queens, New York hotel room this past Saturday morning, according to CDNOW's Allstar. A former member of the Allman Brothers Band, Woody had formed GOV'T MULE with guitarist Warren Haynes and drummer Matt Abts around 1997. The band was just days away from their first tour date in support of their latest release, Life Before Insanity. Woody was 44. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
NINE INCH NAILS gets remixed up. Look for some new takes on material from The Fragile this October, says Rolling Stone. NIN will be releasing some remixed versions of "The Wretched" and "The Frail" among other tracks, including some yet unreleased tunes from The Fragile recording sessions. The collection will be titled Things Falling Apart.
