New GUNS N' ROSES lineup. No more Slash. No more Duff. No more Dizzy. But, GUNS N' ROSES has moved on with some new blood along with their original lead Axl Rose, says CDnow's Allstar. Buckethead and former NINE INCH NAILS guitarist Robin Finck will be the new G N' R guitarists, and Bob Ezrin (producer of PINK FLOYD's The Wall) will serve as A & R man. The band's upcoming album Chinese Democracy has not yet been given a set release date. BMG and Napster ink a deal. Rolling Stone reports that an alliance has been formed between Napster, the online music-trading community, and Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG) that would allow for subscription-based music swapping. In essence, BMG opens their vault of recorded music (which includes the Arista and RCA record labels) for a little financial compensation from Napster members. BEASTIE BOYS on display. It's a walk down memory lane. A photographic history of the BEASTIE BOYS will be on exhibition in a Manhattan gallery, says Music365, opening in November. The show coincides with the vinyl release of the BEASTIES' all-encompassing compilation Sounds of Science. Compiled by Glennie Rabin |
