New Year's Eve Cancellations. Launch reports that several New Year's Eve celebrations have been cancelled due to a variety of circumstances. Shack Events announced there would be no Capital Countdown Gala, a Washington, D.C. event expected to feature Everclear, Third Eye Blind, Fuel, Fighting Gravity, and others, due to "unforeseen circumstances." The Millenium House Party in Ottawa, which had given Our Lady Peace top billing, was cancelled due to low ticket sales.
LIVE's Kowalczyk too sick to sing. Ed Kowalczyk, singer for LIVE, is under doctor's orders to rest his voice in order to recover from an upper-respiratory infection. According to Rolling Stone, LIVE had to cancel shows in November and December due to the illness, including their New Year's Eve performance, but should resume touring in February.
